A busy day in George Street c.1910.Running into George Street on the right was Adelaide Terrace,a sleazy court where “nice people” would not venture!

New members of OPOL may not have seen this photo before, probably taken from the roof of the Palace Theatre on Mill Street, in the mid-1920’s. Station Road is seen stretching away on the left of the photo and the lattice foot-bridge can just be seen, with Hart Hill behind.

The building just behind and to the right of the horse and cart belonged to Low Giddings Ltd – stone masons, a firm I know very little about. I believe Low Giddings was mayor of Luton in the early 1900’s.

Railway enthusiasts will spot a Great Northern N2 tank hauling some Midland Railway trucks towards Dunstable.
